Many business listings, business listings, free business listings, promote your business,

Your iPhone has a lot of cool functions that aren't enabled by default. The built-in dictionary on the iPhone is one example of this.

Your iPhone comes with a number of dictionaries that allow you to search up words with only a few clicks. You can utilise this function even if you don't have access to the internet. You won't need your third-party dictionary or translation applications anymore thanks to this handy function. Here's how to put it to good use many business listings.

What can you do with the Built-In Dictionary on the iPhone?

You may use dictionaries to search up the definitions of unfamiliar terms. The built-in dictionary on your iPhone is unique in that you don't have to launch an app and manually input the term in order for the app to begin looking for its definition.

Instead, just highlight a word and use the Look Up tool to look up its definition. Furthermore, whereas most third-party applications are limited to a single language, you may concurrently download many languages of dictionaries and thesauruses to get multiple results in single search business listings.

You can select from four dictionaries and thesauruses for the English language alone. There are other translated dictionaries available, such as German–English and Spanish–English.

How to make your iPhone's Dictionary Work

Apple's built-in dictionary is compatible with iOS 11 and newer devices. To use the functionality, follow these steps:

Step 1 - To access the dictionary, go to Settings > General > Dictionary.

Step 2 - Select one or more of the dictionaries you want to download by tapping on them. Wait for it to finish downloading.

Step 3 - When a check sign shows on the left side of the dictionary, you know it's finished downloading.

Step 4 - Once you've finished, you should be able to use these dictionaries to seek up word definitions even when you're not connected to the internet.

How to Use the Dictionary on Your iPhone

It works on any text that can be highlighted, including text in eBook readers, papers, notes, emails, identified text in photos, and even words typed into text fields:

Step 1 - To pick and highlight a word, double-tap or press and hold it.

Step 2 - There will be a contextual menu appears. Look Up should be selected.

Step 3 - The dictionary's results will be shown. The results will reveal one or more meanings or translated definitions of the term you've picked, depending on how many dictionaries you've downloaded.

Step 4 - To expand a definition, tap it.

It's important to note that you should only choose one word. You're unlikely to get a dictionary definition for the phrase if you use more than one word. Instead, Siri Suggested Websites, Wikipedia Search, News, or other resources connected to the highlighted keyword will be shown on your smartphone free business listings.

Note that word processors like Pages and Microsoft Word don't have a Look Up option. Instead, use the Define option to retrieve your dictionaries.

How to Uninstall a Dictionary

A large number of recommended meanings might soon become overwhelming and disorganized. By eliminating a downloaded dictionary, you can minimize the number of proposed meanings in the Look Up results. To do so, follow these steps:

Step 1 - To access the dictionary, go to Settings > General > Dictionary.

Step 2 - A blue tick mark will appear next to your available dictionaries.

Step 3 - Simply tap the ones you'd like to get rid of.

Instantly Define Things

The built-in dictionary on Apple allows you to quickly clarify unfamiliar terms or convert them into a language you desire to learn. The functionality is smoothly incorporated into most iPhone apps, allowing you to define words exactly where you are without having to launch or switch apps.

It's a fantastic reference tool for your iPhone; all you have to do is enable it in the settings.
