  The global shortage of computer chips has had a significant impact on the car industry and is unlikely to improve before the end of the year, according to Vauxhall Motors. Vauxhall's managing director, Paul Wilcox, told the BBC that the industry was facing a "problem" for the next two or three months. Airport denies 110 Britons entry

  Innsbruck airport refused to allow 110 British tourists entry into Austria because they had not followed updated Covid restrictions, it has emerged. Police said many were probably caught out on Sunday by a new rule requiring a negative PCR test within 48 hours. Austrian opposition politicians blamed the health minister for failing to update restrictions on the internet. Most of the tourists were flown home immediately but 40 were put up overnight in a hotel. Of those 40, 12 were allowed to take new PCR tests and continue with their holidays, the local authority in Innsbruck said. Indonesia has lifted a ban on the Boeing 737 Max, more than three years after the Lion Air disaster that saw the loss of all 189 people on board. The plane maker saw its best-selling aircraft grounded globally after a deadly crash in March 2019 involving an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max. On Monday, Ethiopian Airlines said it will resume such flights in February. The announcements come months after the aircraft returned to service in the US and Europe. More than 180 countries now allow the use of the 737 Max, with Australia, Japan, India, Malaysia, and Singapore lifting their bans this year. Indonesia's transport ministry said in a statement that the lifting of the ban would be effective immediately and that it follows regulators' checks of changes made to the aircraft's systems. Andy Wood, chief executive of Adams, said the hospitality industry was facing the "economic equivalent of long Covid".
