The latest point release of Apple's
mobile operating system, iOS 15.2, is now available. This release, like its
predecessor, iOS 15.1, adds a slew of new capabilities to the iPhone. App
Privacy Reports and the formal launch of Apple Music's Voice subscription
option are two of the new features.
We'll take a look at the seven new
and intriguing features that iOS 15.2 brings to the iPhone in this article.
1 - App Privacy Report
One of the most intriguing new
features in iOS 15.2 is the App Privacy Report. It's a privacy-focused feature
that displays how many times various apps have accessed your device's sensors
and data. These include, among other things, sensitive data such as your
location, photos, contacts, and sensors such as your microphone many
business listings.
If you've given an app access to
your location, for example, you'll be able to see how many times it has
accessed your location data in the last seven days and at what time.
The App Privacy Report was supposed
to be released in September 2021 with the major iOS 15 upgrade, but it didn't
happen. Fortunately, it's finally here, and it's about time you knew everything
there is to know about how applications access your data.
2 - Apple Music Voice Plan
Apple Music Voice Plan is an extra
plan available to Apple Music users that can only be accessed through Siri.
Unlike other plans, the Voice Plan allows you to listen to Apple Music's
complete collection solely using voice commands.
The Play It Again voice command,
for example, allows Siri to play songs from your recent music listening
history. If you frequently use HomePod or Apple CarPlay to listen to music,
this new voice-only service is ideal.
3 - Macro Control Settings for
Photos
In the Settings app, Apple has
included a new Macro Control toggle. When utilising the ultra-wide lens to take
macro images, this comes in useful.
The one exception is that, owing to
hardware limits, the function is only accessible on the iPhone 13 Pro and
iPhone 13 Pro Max business listings.
When you enable Macro Control in
the Settings app, you'll be able to find the toggle in the camera app in the
bottom left of the preview when you move your iPhone close to an item.
4 - Parts and Service History
A special area in iOS 15.2 shows
you whether elements like the battery and display have ever been replaced,
which is a useful feature. If you've replaced any hardware components in your
iPhone, the Parts and Service history section will inform you whether or not
they're authentic. However, there is a catch to this new functionality.
Apple will only notify you if
you've replaced the battery on the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, 2020 iPhone SE, and
later. You may also check whether you've altered the display and if it's real
on iPhone 11. However, if you have an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13, this section will
show you the history of display and camera replacements.
5 - Hide My Email in the Mail App Arrives
Hide My Email is a useful privacy
feature introduced by Apple in iOS 15. If you're an iCloud+ user who uses this
function, you're surely aware that until today, Hide My Email couldn't be
accessed through the Mail app. Hide My Email may now be accessed directly from
the standard Mail app on iOS 15.2.
6 - Digital Legacy
You may choose Legacy Contacts in
iOS 15.2's Digital Legacy. Legacy Contacts are important because they can
access and download your iCloud and personal info after you pass away.
This is significant since Apple
will never allow access to someone's iCloud account free business listings.
7 - IMessage Communication Security
If you're a parent, you can use
Communication Safety to activate warnings on your child's iPhone or iPad when
they share or receive a photo that contains nudity.
"Safety warnings provide
useful resources for youngsters when they receive photographs that involve
nudity," according to the iOS 15.2 changelog.
Other Highlights of iOS 15.2
Aside from the seven, iOS 15.2
brings some minor adjustments to your iPhone's various locales. For example,
the Stocks app now includes a year-to-date performance chart as well as a
currency for various tickers. CarPlay has been updated to provide extra
features in Apple Maps, such as bike lanes and turn lanes, in some locations.
Where Can I
Find My iPhone? In Power Reserve, you can now track down a misplaced iPhone for
up to five hours. The TV app now features a Store option, which allows you to
explore, buy, and rent movies and TV series all in one spot. In the Notes and
Reminders app on iOS 15.2, you may erase or rename your tags.
